Young Elton John

During the 1950’s in a small suburb of London, a three year old child watched his Aunt play The Skater’s Waltz on their family piano. Young Reggie listened closely before joining his aunt at the piano and stretching to reach the keys. Everyone laughed until his tiny fingers starting flying. With prodigy-like skill, that toddler boy began to play The Skater’s Waltz. Reginald Dwight could play almost anything by ear for as long as he could remember. He was a gentle boy but his father was not. Each night he fell asleep and dreamed of a world where he could make people happy with the songs he wrote, to rest their hearts.

It was because of music that the anxious and closeted boy named Reggie grew up to become the proud and confident Elton John.

Inspired by thoughtful musicians. Designed for Gentle Children.

The Gentle Boys Collection features childlike depictions of classic artists in old school film and polaroid format, captioned with the nicknames of their youth.

These legendary musicians were once just gentle boys, with big feelings and creative dreams.
