Punk is Coming (Debbie Harry, Blondie) Onesie

$30.00

Never a groupie. Not a roadie. Just a baddie, an artist, songwriter, actress and front woman of the band BLONDIE.

In the late 60’s, Debbie Harry joined a band as a backup singer but quit soon after because she wanted to be more than a “pretty decoration.”

She wrote her own music and created signature couture styles from second-hand finds, scouring New York City’s thrift shops for garments she could cut up and stitch to create punk-pinup outfits before shows and photoshoots. She didn’t follow trends, she invented them. Debbie’s most iconic work came from a place of being unapologetically herself.

Debbie became a cult figure of 70’s punk rock and new wave, and was the muse and subject of artists and photographers like Andy Warhol, Robert Mapplethorpe and Chris Stein. She became fast friends with David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Jean Michel Basquiat.

As a girl in a boys club, Debbie pushed her way through a male dominated industry to create an unforgettable name for herself.

This onesie features some of the iconic, artistic ways she expressed herself. Each design element has a story that true fans will appreciate and new fans can discover.

Hand illustrated and printed using eco-friendly water based inks on a 100% cotton organic baby bodysuit. Baby onesies are made in small batches and will ship within 3 weeks of placing your order.
